Blanche Mayo BSN, RN is currently a Doctor of Nursing Practice student in the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty program (DNP-FNP) at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Blanche is currently employed as a Registered nurse at Adventist White Oak Medical Center and practices at the Acute Rehabilitation with 11 years of experience. Her nursing career spans from medical surgical settings and long-term care where she dedicates herself to providing safe and quality care. Blanche obtained her associate degree in nursing from Montgomery college in 2012. She later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Grand Canyon University in 2017. Blanche is an active member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM) since 2023. As a member of NPAM, Blanche engages in promoting the high standards of health care delivered by nurse practitioners, represents the interests of nurse practitioners to local, state, and federal government entities, conducts continuing education programs for nurse practitioners, educates other health professionals and the public about nurse practitioners, and disseminates information concerning the profession and issues relating to nurse practitioners. Blanche’s journey as a DNP-FNP student is evident by her successful implementation of a quality improvement project in a hospital setting. Her purpose is to share the findings of the quality improvement project not only nationally, but also worldwide echoing her commitment to the wider dissemination of knowledge and best practices in nursing.
