Laura Allaire, BSN, RN, OCN, PHN, is a master’s student in the UCSF School of Nursing in the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist track. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Boston College. She worked for ten years as an oncology nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Currently, her master’s thesis and poster for the Clinical Inquiry Conference are on the relationship of levels of hope and coping, stress, and resilience. Laura is a teaching assistant at UCSF for Foundation of Interprofessional Practice. She is also an active member in the California Health Corps (CAHC) and the Contra Costa Medical Reserve Corps (CC MRC). She deployed as a registered nurse on numerous missions for the COVID-19 pandemic and the California wildfires. As part of the CC MRC, she received special Congressional Recognition for “Outstanding & Invaluable Service to the Community.” She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She expects to graduate in June 2024 and would like to work in palliative care.
