Angelina graduated from a diploma program from the Medical College Fudan University on 1999. She has spent a majority of her nursing career as a Labor and Delivery nurse, with 5 of those years working in China. After immigrating to the U.S., Angelina passed her RN boards and was accepted into the new graduate program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in the L&D department. Her first impression of working alongside nurses who cared for laboring patients and their families was filled with amazement at how passionate the nurses were about the work they do. This was further evident by the multitude of positive comments given by their patients. But as the COVID pandemic continues on its fourth year, it has taken a toll on nurses who have felt stress and burnout resulting in low morale on the unit. This led Angelina to apply for the EBP Fellowship Program, in which her focus was concentrating on job satisfaction through acts of appreciation. Her hope is to find a way to nurture her fellow colleagues so they can continue to provide a joyous experience for laboring patients and their families.
