Foundations for Excellence in Physician Leadership Program
The Foundations for Excellence in Physician Leadership Program is designed to develop and support physicians in gaining the essential knowledge, skills, and tools for success as health care leaders. Physicians in the early stages of an administrative medicine career or those interested in gaining more administrative responsibilities in a clinical setting are ideal candidates for the program.
Program Structure
The hybrid learning experience includes in-person sessions in San Francisco and additional virtual learning and coaching sessions.
Monthly learning sessions focus on key leadership competencies for physician leaders. Pre-work assigned prior to the learning sessions prepares participants to dive deeper into the content by reading relevant articles, taking leadership self-assessments, or watching short videos. This structure allows participants to have a baseline understanding of key concepts so that the live sessions focus on enhancing knowledge and engaging with other participants and expert facilitators around the content and how it applies to their own work.
In addition to the learning sessions, coaching is a key component of the program. All participants will be matched with an executive coach who they will meet with virtually during the program. The program also teaches effective coaching practices, behaviors, and methods that participants can leverage with their own teams.
